inspiration page

This is my interpretation of the shoe and handbag. I ended up covering a button with paper like the shoe's button on the strap, I outlined the page in black like the trim on the shoe, added paper braiding and fringe like the handle of the purse and layered the colored to paper to mimic the striping on shoe and bag.

Working on my inspiration page today...

Yesterday was all about gathering supplies to make a page using the shoe and purse I posted on Monday. Well that led to having to dig through boxes of supplies because my studio is being moved and I have been working in my guest bedroom. So that led to more sorting and purging and discovering products I didn't even know I had, which was fun and like Christmas! But it didn't leave me a whole lot of creating time. So I will be working on that today.

My friend is turning 57 today and we are going to Olive Garden to celebrate her birthday. I always look forward to catching up with my friends. I haven't seen them in a few weeks because we have all been going through major challenges in our lives.

Tuesdays Trash post is not posting to that page. I found the coolest hemming post thing. I am going to use it for a display hook in my scrapbook room. Will post as soon as I can figure out how to get it posted to that page.

Today's inspiration is ....

Tomorrow's finished scrapbook page.

Here are two photos that are inspiring me right now. One is a pair of CL shoes(to die for yum) I love the color combos and the braided handle on the purse with the fringe. Send me a pic of what you create and I will post it.

Sneak Peeks

I am working on a project for a gift but I am so excited about this idea that I have to share it. I found a vintage satin clutch at a thrift shop (3 dollars) in town and thought how cute it would be to decorate it then use it to house a mini album about a girl's prom. I put Prima pearls on the front and Prima flowers and I am dangling charms and vintage buttons off the chain. I want to find a cute vintage door knob or something I can use for a hook. I think it would look so adorable hanging on the wall in a dressing room or outside the closet or a powder room. My mind is flooding with ideas got to get back to work! Wish I had some satin so I could make those cabbage roses that I saw the tutorial on Rhonna F.'s website. May have to take a trip to the fabric store.

Graduation

Graduations are going on all over the place. My closest, dearest friend just graduated from college at the age of 56. I am so proud of her especially since this was a horrific year for her having to endure the loss of her husband, her one and only true love, to cancer and then finding out she had cancer herself.
My youngest daughter, Jerica will be graduating high school in two weeks and it seems like yesterday I was bringing her home from the hospital.
I guess in a way I am graduating myself on June 14th, not by choice but by someone else's choice. Going from one life, the only one I've ever known for the last 25 years, into a world of endless possibilities. At 46 years of age, what do I want to do for the rest of my life?

I love old staplers!

I love old staplers, don't ask me why, but when I find one like this one, that I found at a garage sale, (they even had staples and it works!) My heart skips a beat : )

Anyone for journals?

I don't know why but I love making journals. I love experimenting with different media and creating fun little covered books, envelopes or whatever. The funny thing is I hate to journal so alot of the ones I have made over the years only have about 3-5 entries. I get started with all the right intentions but I don't know what happens I never keep it up. But I love making them!

It's a new day...

...and I am so thankful! Yesterday was crazy, sometimes I wish I could clone myself like Michael Keaton in the movie "Multiplicity". I am working on my layouts and submissions for the Girl's Paperie design team and I can feel the creative juices flowing. However, I would have started alot sooner had I known my new scraproom with no air conditioning yet, would be 100 degrees so I ended up having to move it all in the guest room just so I could work. What a mess. I am being healed of ADD so I just couldn't move the stuff, NO..I had to go through it all, sorting, purging, yikes. Well need to get back to work, will be posting my new page Trash Tuesdays. There you will see my newest finds for the week and watch as they become works of art. Trash to treasure baby!

A two dollar find at the Restore

I found this printer tray at the Habitat Restore. It was only two dollars and in great shape. I think I am going to add brackets to the underside and make it a wall shelf for my scrap room. Hang it low enough to use the top because I will cut a piece of plexi-glass, hinge it so it will still open and use it for a workspace.

Post pics soon of it's transformation.

I am thinking of.....

Taking up crocheting again. The last time I crochet something was a baby blanket for my second daughter 18 years ago. But I found this website http://www.thecraftytipster.com/ and found a great tutorial here http://www.thecraftytipster.com/magic-circle.html So I thought I would try to dig out my hook and some yarn and give it a whirl.

First Day of a new adventure!

Hello Blogger world! The last two years of my life have been on complete hold due to some life changing events that are now coming to a close. I have had to grow up at 46 years of age and now be on my own. A scary but exciting thought. Is there a better way to keep track of this year than by starting a blog? Hmmm...probably.Just the thought of sharing to a world of unknown bloggers is frightening in itself but I feel I have a unique voice in the scrapbooking world and would like to share my creative ideas with others.

I will be posting a weekly post called Trash to Treasure Tuesdays so you can see how I took my dumpster/trash finds and transform them into treasures. Most of my posts are going to be scrapbook related because this is one of my passions. But every now and then I will have to post an unbelievable, once in a lifetime find.

So, I hope you enjoy your day and don't forget, "One man's trash is another man's (or woman's, in this case) treasure!"
