Tim Holtz Christmas Tag Day 3

Oh no! Not another day where I have to be inspired again, LOL. Well, I do not have anything but the die again from this days tag! So I started digging through the seasonal stash paper pad and when I saw this paper I thought it would be perfect because I could cut out letters. Just added glossy accents. Made my own ribbon using the paper tape. Can't wait to see what is in store for tomorrow.

Tim Holtz Christmas Tag Day 2

This tag just about did me in! First of all I had only the deer die and it is the mini one, so everything else was improvised. But I loved his original tag so much I had to try. The hardest part was that I did not have the kraft resist paper, so I tried to make my own using Utee however I could not find my Christmas stamps from last year or my white paint.

Okay so here goes, after the 4th try I die cut a tag out of just plain kraft cardstock, glued 7Gypsies music tissue paper to it, ran it through the machine in the Merry Christmas folder then mixed floating medium with cream colored paint to get a translucent look and swiped the whole thing with a baby wipe to get off the excess. Found one stamp set so I stamped the holly and Merry Christmas added distress stickles for berries. Sprayed with pearl mist and pretty much followed the TH one. Oh yeah, had to use a pipe cleaner and changed the color of an old MM happy holiday tag using some gold Adirondack mixative stuff. Also could not find burlap which I know I have somewhere in an unpacked box so instead used this beautiful hand died silk ribbon I have been hoarding since 2005 when I picked up a bunch of it in a gift shop in Colorado. See ya for tag 3 tomorrow.

Tim Holtz 12 Days of Christmas Tags Day One

Ok here is my rendition of the tag. I first gathered up all things TH in my scraproom, this made it a little easier. I dod not have his kraft core card stock but I did have the distress paper pad so I used a color out of that and hit it with brushed cord. distresspad and it kind of looked like kraft color. then I embossed it with a folder, Uteed it and then swiped picket fence crackle paint over the top because I could not find any of my paint since the move.
I used the flourish die and the M&S 25 die cut from grunge board then covered in glitter, the rest is the same as the original except that I had to hand cut the banner. Love, love, love the pinecone sizzlix die.
Not bad for 4 hours of work, haha. See ya tomorrow

Ustream addiction

Thanks to my sister I am currently finding myself addicted to Ustream scrapbooking channels. Fortunately I have had the chance to use up some of my stash.  The hope mini is from Paperphenomenon and the Roadtrip album is based off a Christmas organizer that Followthepapertrail did.

The paper used for "Hope" was BoBunny Butterfly Garden.  How can an album turn out bad with paper like this? Prima goes great and I used an old scarf to make the tulle flowers with my die cut machine. I found the owl charm at a thrift store, took it off it's original chain and clipped it on to a TH clip.

The paper I used for the Roadtrip mini is Crate Paper "Static", I loved this paper line when I saw it but I had no clue how I was going to use it. There is a notepad inside for journaling and a folio to store pics, ideas, whatever.

Okay off I go back into Ustream world.  I need to remember to set a timer so I don't miss Project Runway tonight....

Owls, can't get over this find

I was in a thrift shop on OBT and found this awesome owl lamp. It had a shade but it was disgusting. Someone painted it cream I guess at one time because when I cleaned it there is dark brown underneath.  Well I opened up Flea Market Style magazine this month and there was my lamp (here it is from their blog), however, my lamp has a bowl in the base. So it was originally dark brown. Well now I won't feel bad when I paint it. I can't decide pink or teal. So for now they just are perched. I love it because not only is it a lamp but it also has a bowl built in to the base! It works and was only 20 bucks.

Finally got my scraproom organized!

I spent the last 3 days cleaning and organizing my scrap space. I needed more tabletop space and I have to have everything out or I won't use it.  So I tucked a folding table up under a scrap cube table. Love how this came out, didn't think it would fit all in there but there is plenty of space. It will work until I can find my green vintage desk that is on my wishlist.

October, I am over the whole Halloween thing!

I am so over the Halloween thing, it is everywhere! All the stores, all the scrapbooking sites, I can't stand it.  I love fall, but not so much all the orange and black, spiders, witches, etc.
Okay enough ranting, I have started this new collection of green vintage office supplies. Of course, since I have an obsession, but recently I have come upon this color of green, each piece was picked up at a different place. The stapler (I heart this), in a thriftshop closeout in Ocala (free), the pencil sharpener, from a lady I was helping pack up her house for a move(free), thanks Jess! The file box at St. Vincent DePaul thrift store in Jacksonville ($3), the address file ( 50 cents), a thriftshop in Apopka, the chair in Orlando at a thriftstore, ($5). So now I need to find a desk, pencil cup, tape dispenser, trash can and I am good to go, hah!

Doing lots of thrift store shopping but have not been able to figure out my new camera so I can post pics double ugh, ugh. have so many trips to catch up on. Alaska, Denmark, Sweden, Dominica, Guadaloupe. All I keep doing is throwing the memories in a box. Well when my company goes in October I will have some time to get some projects done. Saturday I am going to the big Sanford Flea Market I can not wait yippee! Until then happy scrapping.

CHA stalker and some Goodwill finds

I love waiting for all of the sneak peaks to come out on the internet.  It is so inspiring and all I want to do is scrap and stalk the net for every little peek at what is coming out.

I am in South Carolina right now and I had to drop some things off at the Goodwill for my mom, and being the junkie that I am I couldn't resist going in.  I found a box of these old label holders that are supposed to be markers for binders but I can thing of a dozen ways to use them. I got a grab bag of buckles, zippers and trims for 3 dollars and an old leather bridge book for 50 cents.

I wish I was in my studio so I could create something right now.  I will post a pic later of my finds.

South Carolina Saturday Flea Market

Got up and went to the Flea Market in Myrtle Beach with my sister.  Man was it hot, but I found some great steals. A roll of vintage lace, for 3 dollars, I don't know how many yards but plenty to glimmer mist, hand dye or just use as is. I purchased 3 charms for 25 cents and  2 vintage postal label booklets for a dollar. Love the look for travel albums or collage work.

Again, I will have to post pics later because of me not having what I need to upload right now.

Thieves Market, Florence South Carolina

If you are ever in Florence you have to go to the Thieves market on SR 561.  It was incredible! It is a co-op so they have so many booths with such great finds.  I got a Holiday magazine from 1948, all about the west coast of Florida, a chocolate milk milkcap, a fleur de lis tin roof tile in the most lucious color of sea green and patina. Can not wait to be able to post pictures.

Teresa Collins

I made this mini for a friend of mine. I love all things TC. So easy to work with and so inspiring.

Webster Pages

Getting ready for my trip to CT for sister's weekend so I created this mini album/journal. The anchor charm is actually an earring hanging from a TH clip I got for 25 cents at a garage sale.

GCD Studios: Jeg elsker deg!

To all my Scandinavian friends...How cool is this! I only wish they had people dancing and singing around the Christmas tree! GCD Studios: Jeg elsker deg!: "(in case you don't speak Norwegian...that means 'I Love you!') And that's EXACTLY how GCD feels about this new collection... Ra..."

Milk Caps

I was in a foreign country recently and happened upon a great antique shop that had milk caps. I don't know what I will do with them but they are really cool and flat. Always on the lookout : )
